Paid Placement Disclosure
Effective date: August 30, 2026
You reached this page from a "Paid Rank" badge or from the footer. This page explains, in plain words, what a paid position on TopSlash is and what it is not.
1. Every position on the leaderboard is paid
The TopSlash leaderboard is a paid board. Founders pay to be on it, and the order is set by how much each founder has paid in total for placement, highest first. Every ranked row carries the label "Paid Rank" (or "Paid Position"). Listings that have paid nothing appear below the ranked block, labeled "Unranked", newest first.
2. Payment, not quality, decides the order
The founder in position #1 is there because that founder's cumulative placement total is the highest. That is the only reason. Being #1 does not mean the product is the best, the most popular, the most trusted, or recommended by us. We do not rank by quality, reviews, ratings, sales, or any editorial judgment.
3. What a paid position is not
Paying for placement buys a position on this leaderboard and nothing else. It does not buy:
- Clicks or visitors. We never send traffic to a listing.
- Reviews, ratings, or a score. There are no reviews or scores at launch.
- Engagement, followers, or social proof.
- A recommendation, a "best of" label, or a quality signal of any kind.
- Any guaranteed result.
We do not test the products listed. Every published listing passed our automated safety and content checks; that is all "verification passed" means.
4. How to tell paid from unpaid
- A row with a position number and a "Paid Rank" badge has paid for its position. The badge sits next to the number, and the row shows the listing's "Current total".
- A row labeled "Unranked" has not paid. It is on the site because it passed verification.
- We never use the words "recommended", "best", "top pick", "featured", or "sponsored" for paid positions, and we never mix paid positions into an unpaid list without the badge.
- The full history of every payment and every position change is public and permanent on the Complete Bid History page.
5. The Laeli seed
The #1 position at launch was seeded by Laeli at $1. Laeli is operated by the founder of TopSlash. Its listing carries the disclosure "Operated by the marketplace founder · Launch seed listing." The $1 is a seed credit, not a Stripe payment, and it is shown as such in the bid history. It is excluded from our revenue counters. Laeli has no deal on TopSlash.
6. Deals are sold by the vendor
A deal shown on a listing is sold by the founder (the vendor), through the vendor's own Stripe account. "Pricing provided by vendor." and "Purchase and subscription managed by vendor." appear on every deal page because they are true. Paid rank and deals are separate: paying for rank does not change a deal, and having a deal does not change rank.
7. What we never do
No fake urgency, no fake countdowns, no fake "people viewing" numbers, no fake counters, no hidden sponsorship. Every number on the site comes from a real database query, and every counter has a published definition at About: counter definitions. Buyers never pay to bid, and there are no platform credits.
8. The full rules
The exact price ladder, the tie rule, the period boards, and what happens during checkout are in the Ranking Rules. When and how a placement payment can be refunded is in the Refund & Finality Rules. Questions: [email protected].
